Week 5 (25.10.2013)

·         This night, all of us gathered for the fifth meeting at the Kolej Keenam. ·         Our group leader, Izzat Hazwan gave some briefing about the summary of the Titanic. ·         Then, we do discussion about the movie that we have watched before , Titanic. ·         We discuss about our feelings, main idea of the movie and which character we like.

     What is the story about?

      
   84 years later a 100-year-old woman named Rose DeWitt Bukator tells the story to her granddaughter Lizzy Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby Buell, and Anatoly Mikailavich on the Keldysh about her life set in April 10th 1912, on a ship called Titanic when young Rose boards the departing ship with the upper-class passengers and her mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, and her fiance, Caledon Cal Hockley. Meanwhile, a drifter and artist named Jack Dawson and his best friend Fabrizio De Rossi win third-class tickets to the ship in a game. And she explains the whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on its first and last voyage April 15th, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning.

     What group of people would like to watch this movie?

     
     The group of people that like to watch this movie is adult whose are 18 years old and above. This is because the movie is mostly about love and romance between the couple. The strength among the love between the Jack and Rose should become the model of the modern adult group.

What spoilers would ruin this movie if you told your readers about it?

      
    The spoiler of the movie is the ending of the movie. This is because this story has the sad ending at where the main character, Jack died, and the romantic story cannot be continued. Besides, most of us want to watch the happy ending for the romantic love story. 

    Why do you like the movie?

    
    I like the movie because it shows the true love between two people that have different background. Even Rose’s mother cannot accept Jack whose is the poor man, but Rose still aim to stay with Jack just because of the love between them. Besides, I can feel varies emotion from the story such as sad, happy, grateful and romantic.

What rating would you give for this movie?

I would give 4 out of 5 stars because of the romance part of the story
  

     What is the title of review of the movie, Titanic?

     Sacrification and love.

  

      What are the lessons that be learnt through this movie?

     The lesson that we learn from the movie is we must appreciate what we had. Only when we learn to appreciate something, then we can know howis the thing brings benefit to us. Besides, we need to learn to love one another. As the love of Jack to Rose is so deep, so he chose to let Rose to be the only survivor when the ship started to sink. And because of the love of Rose to Jack, she chose to live bravely.

Our Third Meeting (10 October 2013)

Discussion on the movie, After Earth

Week 3  (10.10.2013)

As usual, all of us gathered for the third meeting at the study area near Kolej Keenam. Our group leader, Izzat Hazwan gave some briefing about the plot of the After Earth. Then, we do discussion about the movie that we have watched before , After Earth. We discuss about our feelings,main idea of the movie and which character we like. We had fun during the discussion as everyone had different opinions about the movie .

What is the story about?

     One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind’s new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai. When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai’s craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.

What groups of people would like to watch this movie?

      Teenagers.

      This is because the movie is adventures and full of imagination. Kitai Range fights with ursa. Then, he must survive at the polluted earth which lacks of oxygen. The story is happened at the planet that little bit different from the lifestyle of human in the earth. Their lifestyle in the new planet is very modern where they have high technology compared to the lifestyle of people in the earth.

What spoilers would ruin this movie if you told your readers about it?

      The spoiler that would ruin this movie, if i told the readers about it is the moment when the spaceship landed in a crash. Only Katai and his father were found to stay alive. Kitai search around the ship and found lots of corpses. The moment he looked around would make the audience hoping on finding someone to be alive. However, none was found.

           

Why you like the movie?

       I like the movie so much because the main character Kitai is a teenager. He showed us the challenges that he had to face in order to save himself and his dad. The love is so great and made him succeed to save themselves. I felt motivated because a teenager can have courage to overcome the fear and beat ursa down.

What rating would you give for this movie?

I would give 4 out of 5 stars because it amazed me.

What is the title of review of the movie, After Earth?

Danger is real, fear is a choice.

            

What are the lessons that be learnt through this movie?

    What we learnt from the movie is we have to face all the upcoming problems, not run from them. Nothing will be solved if we keep running from those problems and fear to face them. Furthermore, we have to appreciate our family and keep on supporting each other because family members are the closest people in our lives. Without them, we might be lost and felt alone, thus got no courage to face anything. Last, we must not give up in our life , keep on fighting to chase our dreams.
